Tuam Cancer Care provides therapies, support and information to people with a cancer diagnosis and their families and is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm and Monday evening from 6.45pm-9pm. While it is open two volunteers are on duty in the Centre and to provide this cover we need 35 to 40 trained volunteers.

Do you think you would be interested in giving time and energy to the work we do in Tuam Cancer Care?

We provide training in listening skills for all new volunteers and ensure that they have the support of a more experienced volunteer whenever they are on duty in the Centre.

We ask our volunteers to be available for two sessions of duty per month and to attend a monthly volunteer group. We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have had a cancer diagnosis or have cared for or lost a loved one who has had cancer. In these cases, however, we ask that you should be two years post treatment or post bereavement before you get involved in volunteering.

If you are interested, please phone the Centre for more information or for an application form to become a volunteer.
