Tuam Cancer Care Centre announces the launch of its 2011 campaign for the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon

Tuam Cancer Care Centre is calling on you to run, walk or jog the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon on Monday, 6^th June. This year the Centre, in conjunction with Tuam Athletics Club, is facilitating a Fit4Life Programme to help develop you fitness for the Mini Marathon.

Tuam Cancer Care is now taking registrations for the event. By registering through the Centre, participants will receive a Flora Women’s Mini Marathon race pack, complimentary transport to and from the event, refreshments on the day and a Tuam Cancer Care t-shirt and hat. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to register early to secure a place in the marathon as numbers are limited. The closing date for registration through Tuam Cancer Care is April 15^th.

Once registered, participants are invited to join in a Fit4Life Training Programme, facilitated by a qualified leader from Tuam Athletics Club. The Programme is open to everyone from complete beginners to experienced runners (All ages welcome). The Training Group will meet every Thursday, starting 3^rd March, at 7pm in the Tuam Swimming Club Car Park. The cost of joining is 20 euro (insurance cover) and there is no extra charge for training.

Tuam Cancer Care is a voluntary non-profit organisation, which offers psychological, emotional and practical support to people going through a cancer experience. The money raised via donations from the Flora Women’s Mini Marathon is Tuam Cancer Care Centres single largest source of funds. ‘All our services in the Centre are provided free of charge. We rely solely on charitable fundraising to make this possible. The Mini Marathon is our main source of revenue. We are extremely grateful to all who support us every year and look forward to seeing you in the 2011 Mini Marathon.’
