'The Jog in the Bog is an Adventure Race for novice, intermediate level & experienced athletes alike.'
Why not do it for Tuam Cancer Care? The organisers of Jog in the Bog, which takes place on Saturday, 16th July, in Clooninagh, Tuam, Co. Galway, have invited Tuam Cancer Care to be one of their sponsored charities this year. So if you are participating in any of the races, why not run, walk , kayak or cycle for Tuam Cancer Care. Sponsorship cards are available from the Tuam Cancer Care Centre.
The Races + More There are in fact several races taking place, including the Super 6 (6 stages) and the Super 8(8 stages). These includes stages of cycling, kayaking and running. There is also the Bog Fun Run for the less experienced among us, or for anyone looking for a good day out. If running isn't your thing, there will be plenty happening to keep you entertained all weekend. Throughout the day on Saturday, there will be free children's entertainment, music and a BBQ. And on Saturday night, there will be prize giving, various bands, DJ's, Irish dancers & more at the Bogmans Ball. On Sunday, you can enjoy a range of activities from archery and clay pigeon shooting to jazz music.
Clay Pigeon Shooting in aid of Tuam Cancer Care Clay Pigeon Shooting is taking place between 11am and 1pm on Sunday, July 17th, with all proceeds going to Tuam Cancer Care. So now you have an excuse to shoot! In the afternoon the experts will compete in an Open Clay Pigeon Shoot with €900 in prizes. This Clay Pigeon Shoot is organised by 2008 Gold Cup/Irish Close DTL Champion, Christy Quinn.
